Join Team in Training members Rob and Lynn Smythe for a craft show extravaganza at their house in Delray Beach. There will be a variety of art and craft supplies for sale at rock bottom prices including: beads, jewelry findings, rubber stamps, decorative fibers, how-to craft books, wax seals, sealing wax, papers, blank journals, note cards, calligraphy inks, stickers and much more. Lots of supplies for beaders, jewelry artists, scrapbookers, altered artists, fiber artists, creative writers and more.

Goddess Themed Cards and Journals

There will be a nice selection of her blank note cards and blank journals available for sale at the Craft Diva Trunk Show.

Rob will also have a tent set up outside the house with a variety of new and used cycling, running and triathlon gear available for purchase. Refreshments will also be available under the tent.

Team in Training Fundraiser

Join Rob and Lynn Smythe, of the Tucson cycle team for a coffee house fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Coffee and tea will be served throughout the event, along with lots of homemade goodies including cookies, cakes, brownies, quiche, finger sandwiches, and much more.

Art and Craft Supplies

There will also be a variety of art and craft materials available for sale, including scrapbooking, art journal and beading supplies. This Team in Training fundraising event will also feature the one-of-a-kind beaded and fused glass creations of the Craft Diva, AKA Lynn Smythe.

Raffle Prizes

We will also have a variety of raffle prizes available. Raffle prizes will include sports themed gift basket, scrapbook supply gift basket, coffee and tea gift basket, and much more! Raffle tickets are $1 each; 6 for $5, 13 for $10 or 27 for $20. The raffle prizes will be given away using a Chinese Auction method. You buy as many tickets as you want, and place your tickets in the prize drawing box for whichever prize(s) you wish to win.

Designer Glass Bead Assortments

 

Cool Hues glass bead assortment

I like to work with certain color schemes when I'm creating a new craft or art project. I find staring at hanks or containers filled with one type of bead a bit boring. Whenever I start planning a new project, my first step is to decide what colors I want to work with. Then I get out all my supplies in those colors and start making custom bead mixtures.

I decided to offer some of my custom bead mixtures for sale on the Etsy.com website. The bead mixtures all contain a mixture of vintage German glass beads and new Czech glass beads. The vintage German glass beads date back to 1970 or earlier.

The glass bead mixtures are packaged in a round, aluminum tin which has a clear plexi-glass lid. I currently offer the glass bead mixtures in 28 different color schemes. Turtle Powered Beadwork

Here's a couple of photographs of two turtle themed beadwork pieces I created. The earrings use tiny size 14/o seed beads, while the beaded needle case uses size 11/o Miyuki delicas.

The pattern featured in both pieces is my own original design. I'm going to be researching bead design software in the very near future. My plan is to start offering my original bead patterns for sale. Once I get my patterns all graphed out, I'll have loom woven bracelet patterns, beaded earring patterns, beaded needle case patterns and amulet bag patterns available.

Craft Diva's Favorite Glass Suppliers

In the coming weeks and months, I'll be posting up lots of photos and information on my various fused glass creations. I make a variety of fused glass cabochons, pendants and gift items such as plates, bowls and vases.

Fused Glass Classes
Not ready to place a catalog order, do you want to be able to pick out your glass in person? Visit your local stained glass studio. Many of the studios in my area also teach fused glass classes, rent kiln time and sell a variety of fused glass supplies. You can't just use any type of glass to make fused glass, it has to be tested compatible.

If you are new to the medium of fused glass, I highly recommend taking a basic/beginners level class. Check out bead stores in your area too. I've taught fused glass classes at both local bead stores and my local gem & mineral society.

Ceramic Art Doll Faces

Last week I added a couple of posts to the Craft Diva site about two art doll pieces that I have created. On one of the posts, I mentioned that I didn't remember the name of the artist that made the ceramic doll face that I used to make my art doll pin.

I did a search on the Internet, but still couldn't remember the name of the artist that made the ceramic goddess face. I kept searching and ended up finding two craft artists selling their ceramic art doll faces on the Etsy.com website. I purchased some funky ceramic doll faces from Marlene Gaige of All My Own Too and a bunch of ceramic goddess faces from Sheree Pechin of Fired and Fused.
